Welcome to the research hub of The Happy Philosopher! This page is dedicated to exploring the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and subjective well-being through participant-based research. Our aim is to gather meaningful insights into how different philosophical mindsets impact day-to-day happiness.
Workplace Well-Being: Experimental Study
About the Study
This exploratory study investigates the alignment between philosophical worldviews and reported happiness levels. Rooted in the themes of our course (PHIL E-155: Happiness), the project builds upon classical and contemporary understandings of happiness drawn from figures like Aristotle, Epictetus, Nussbaum, and the Buddha.
Participants are invited to take a short quiz, reflect on their dominant philosophical orientation, and then rate their subjective well-being using a set of psychological measures.
Research Goals
- Identify trends between philosophical alignment and subjective happiness.
- Examine which philosophical schools (Stoicism, Daoism, Existentialism, etc.) correlate with higher day-to-day fulfillment.
- Promote reflective awareness of values, behavior, and personal growth.
Participation Instructions
- Take the Happiness Philosophy Quiz — Visit the “Quiz” tab and answer the 20 questions honestly.
- Record Your Results — Tally your score and identify which philosopher or tradition your views most align with.
